How can a homosexual possibly be a christian? It clearly states in the bible that it is wrong, and the reason the city of sodoma and gomora fell was because of the homosexuality. I'm interested to see as to how the homos interperet this differently. I'm a very curious straight christian with an open mind but i definately know that this is a sin and it is wrong.

More and more modern Christain teachers see the old testament as a teaching tool rather than something to be taken word for word. It was written by men at a time when life was very basic.

If you followed that part of the bible word for word you would expect your wife to walk 7 steps behind you, have no opinion on anything, and you would still have the right to beat her if she spoke without your permission. Do you live like that? Would you want anyone you love to live like that?

There are churches in the province of Alberta that follow that part of the bible word for word. I would hate to see how they discipline their children. We really don't know as many of them are home schooling their kids (I am not saying all people who home school their kids are extreme christians who may be child abusers)

Do you believe this? Do you take everything written in the bible word for word? Do you live it exactly as it is written? No? Probably not. Then why focus in on the words about homosexuality.

Homosexuality is genetic. It is not coveting thy neighbour's wife. It is not murder. When the people were scribing the old testament they knew nothing about genetics.

In the new testament Jesus came forward and changed so many things that people did. eworded God's message to the people. I don't ever recall people supporting their fight against homosexuality with a quote from the New testament. I will admit that I do not have it memorized but Jesus' philosophy was more to live and let live.

The people who are busy fighting the so called immorality of homosexuality would be better served fighting the immorality of the homelessness, the child abuse, the world hunger. The real sins in the world.

When they arrive at the gates they are going to be asked what they have done to change the state of the nation. Fighting love with hatred? Is that a good answer?

Yes it is but with the grace of God, He can change these homosexual into a straight guy like you. God is the only one who can change them. If they are christian and still practicing homosexuality they are still in bandage and not yet changed. Maybe you can't call them as a true christian at all, because there should be a constant change. By the way I'm a straight girl. Hope I helped you.

It clearly states in the Bible that lying and cheating and stealing and being jealous and all sorts of other things are wrong, too, but we Christians nevertheless are known to lie, cheat, steal, envy, and do all sorts of awful things. Are you holding "homos" to a different standard? You hypocrite, first take the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

That said, there is a "speck" in the eyes of homosexuals. You are right: homosexual acts are sin. And it is part of our responsibility as good Christians to speak PRIVATELY and GENTLY with our brothers and sisters who persist in sin (whether homosexuality or or any other sin) and attempt to convince them of their error.

I'm not homosexual (or christian, for that matter). I've spent a lot of time around gays in my travels, though, and I have met some that are quite religious...a lesbian I knew was opposed to gay marriage because of the teachings of the Bible, but felt better in her personal convictions to place her faith above her own desires.

A guy I knew felt very guilty about the way he felt around other men, but still cherished his religion and the spirituality that came from it.

It's people like this, who live their lives the hard way, rather than giving in to mainstream (either Gay or Christian) who lead me to believe that it's not a choice that some people make.

(that being said, I think some others are largely nyphos looking to shag whatever passes them by, and claiming gay gives them a free ticket to do that AND gets them minority status)

I guess the logic is, if you break the law and go to jail, you are still a citizen of the country. Can a murdurer in the US call himself a US citizen? For the record, I am not a Christian nor a homosexual.

I am not gay, But I am a Christian

It is a sin, all sin is wrong, all should turn from sin...

"I need an opinion from a sinner that calls themself Christian?"

o yeah thats right everyone sins...

but that don't make it right, there is no reason to justify it now is there...

The Bible calls it sin...

God bless, I'm glad Jesus died for all sinners and not just certain ones....

historic relations values. women human beings were frequently in value of the kinfolk and raising the youngsters. they are adversarial to gay couples because a relations is "meant" to be a father, mom, and children. no longer 2 fathers or 2 moms. i ought to wager that it began in early biblical cases, at the same time as they first got here up with the anti homosexuality component. in spite of the undeniable fact that the ladies human beings raising the youngsters and stuff become likely considering waaaaaaay back in heritage.

by your argument no one who has sinned can call themselves a Christian, which is not the case at all. We all have sinned against God, but he forgives us and we are saved by our belief that Jesus died for our sins. Do not judge others for there sins, because by doing so you condemn yourself because you are also a sinner.

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

I am not gay but you clearly have too much time on your hands. Leave gay people alone. They are harmless and are God's children just like you and me.

Remember, The Bible is NOT God's word...it is MAN'S INTERPRETATION of God's word.
