I've been invited to one and don't have the slightest clue as to what it is. Links would be helpful. Thanks!

Basically there will be a Candlelight representative there who will show you the different types of candles they sell, let you smell the different scents, etc. They usually play a few games to give away a sample prizes, then you are given a catalog and expected to buy candles or hold a candle party of your own.

Candle Party

Do you know what a "Tupperware Party" is? This is along the same line. You'll be shown all sorts of pretty candle holders and get to sniff at all sorts of yummy candles and then be asked if you want to order some. These parties can be a ton of fun, especially if your host and the salesperson are real low key about things. I've been to several PartyLite Candle parties and have had a great time. Plus, I think they put out an excellent product. (Yes the candles are expensive, but they are by far the best burning/melting/scented ones I've found.)

candle parties that i've been to have been a lot like a Tupperware party or other home sales party.
A person opens their home and "hosts" the party while a consultant from the candle company tries to sell you things.

A get together where someone there (probably the host) is selling candles or skin products (creams, lotions, etc), they have samples for everyone to try. Their usually kind of fun.

Starkedly sentimental and enormously passionate. I still say you speak with much more power when you free verse, but that's my preference anyway, so I know I'm biased. But, I saw this, saw him, felt it, felt his lonliness and sorrow, you TOOK me there and made him my friend, about whom I care and want to comfort....all because you wrote it so well.
