YES!!!!! ;>0 I thought I was the only weirdo with the exploding biscuit can phobia!!! My Friends and family think it's quite hysterical. I buy them and then wait for someone to come over and open them for me because I just cannot do it. I tried wrapping them in an old dish towel and stabbing the container with a sharp knife to release the pressure. But it still popped a little and I still jumped. I jump when toast pops up in the toaster too. I got a toaster oven. And don't ever take them out of the fridge before you're ready to bake them. Especially if it's hot and the oven is on. After about half an hour in the hot kitchen the container explodes. True story. I thought I'd been shot. lol. Thank you. I'm so pleased to know that I'm not alone. Of course everyone on Yahoo is probably laughing their butts off Right now....BUT I DON'T CARE.

I thought I was the only one that felt this way, and was beginning to feel like a nutcase! Wouldn't say I'm outright scared, but very nervous about opening them...you mean the Pillsbury biscuits, crescent rolls, etc. Whatever it is, its very unnerving!! Just a thought, but are all of us with this 'phobia' or apprehension also fearful of balloons bursting? I can't stand to watch when someone is about to burst a balloon, yet if it breaks on its own, other than a sudden 'boom', there's no real problem...also, someone getting ready to burst a paper bag...anyone else? (Or am I a 'fraidy cat'/wuss?! No real other fears, phobias, etc. )

I can't believe someone else is scared of biscuit cans!!!! I always thought I was the only one! I always make someone else open them for me and if I absolutley HAVE to open one, I try to wear glasses or close my eyes...just in case.
I try to laugh it off in front of people and tell them that the Pillsbury Dough Boy is stalking me. Get them laughing with me so they don't think I'm nuts.
I'm also a little freaked out at the car wash when the air blowers start. I always think that it'll cause the windows to shatter inward and cut my face.
I think it's a fear of compressed air but I'm not sure of the technical name for it. If I could name it, I'd call it The Pillsbury Phoughbia

OMG! You won't believe what happened to me when one of those little cans of biscuits popped.
One afternoon I was making dinner and hit the counter with one of those cans. It popped so loudly I stepped back and fell down right onto my kitten's water dish, Well, that dish flipped up into the air, water and all, and landed right on top of me. Soaked me good. This clatter scared the kitten so she jumped right up onto the counter, but she landed in a mixing bowl with jalapenos and caliente pepper. She stood there for a second completely in shock, then jumped down onto the kitchen floor.
The kitten started licking her paws--until the peppers registered on her tongue! She took off running like a speeding bullet and ran around the house like that for 15 minutes.
I was worried for her so I took her to the vet. By the time I arrived, the kitten was panting like a dog and steam was coming out of both ears. The vet said the steam was harmless and it would go away in a few hours.
I took the kitten back home and when she ran down the hall, the steam coming from her ears reminded me of an 18-wheeler with dual exhaust.
I cleaned up the kitchen and examined the biscuits. They seemed alright, except a little dried out. They turned out okay, though, for dinner.

Yes I understand you fear/phobia. I dont think they have proper name for it, but we can make up one how about it. Bisphobia. I hate to making biscuits because of the popping of the container. But I love to eat them as long as I dont have to hear or feel the popping.

Yes, that has always scared the hell out of me. I think its the suspense and not knowing when it will POP!. I have found its way less traumatic if you press the seal with your thumb instead of the spoon because you can feel when its about to POP! and it takes the uncertainty element out of it.
