Yes! Great being one too.
Don't be dissapointed if you'r not dancing or speaking in tongues or shouting. Although tongues are promised they don't always come with the package.
If you "backslide" don't worry. We are told that "if we confess our sin He is faithfull and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness". Just confess (to Jesus, not a priest or anyone else) your sin, repent and go for God. Another verse is "if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with the other and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin".
Just abide in the vine and live. You will bring forth good fruit.

First you don't understand the Holy Ghost. He will not make you jump up and down and speak in tongues with out a very good reason. Ask your self why would he have you speak in tongues unless some one would understand you and there by be benefited? The Holy Ghost is the one who speaks in the very soft voice in your mind or gives you the feeling that it is right or wrong in your heart. Yes he can be a much bigger influence when it is very important but seldom works in that manner. Second the holy ghost is only with you when you are being righteous and in the right place. Another words he will not be with you if you go into a bar or other such establishment. I do not know what makes you shake. Pray to the lord to help you find the truth maybe the lord wants you to change your church. He may want you to seek medical attention for your problem, or he may send you missionary's to help you with casting out the unfamiliar spirits. Good luck!

Well, I am a Christian and have grown up around Christians who have been taught as you have been taught all my life. Sadly, I have seen some very Christian people never once been prompted to speak in tongues, shout or dance. They have been totally convinced of their unworthiness in their own Christian culture.
I do believe in the gifts of the Spirit. I also believe of all the gifts of the Spirit that this "baptism of the Holy Ghost" that results in "speaking in tongues, shouting and dancing" is the one gift of the Spirit that Satan most easily manipulates and copies. I believe very, very few people ever receive that gift and I have attended Churches were this is practiced and what I have felt in the presence of this practice is not consistent with Spirit. I think you may be the most honest person in the crowd. I believe you will be lead on to study the scriptures more about the Holy Ghost privately.
Do you remember in the scriptures where God was found not in the voice of thunder or the quaking of the earth, but in the still small voice? I believe the gift of the Holy Ghost is the still small voice that feels you with warmth to make right choices, do the right things for others and leads you to love the Lord.
Good luck Sister. Seek and you shall find the truth for yourself in the scriptures. In the meantime, quit feeling like you are under condemnation and start exploring other Christian Churches as well.

While it is true that some people feel compelled to speak in tongues because they say that they are filled with the Holy Spirit it is also true that not all people saved will do that… The Holy Spirit has already touched you… it will take time for you to recognize… as it does with some people Think of it like seeing an old friend that you have not seen in a long time… you may not recognize the person at first but after they speak… you remember the voice.. or a phrase… Don’t be discouraged As you mature… you will hear the Holy Spirit – in the mean time… follow that which you feel inside… seek fellowship with people in your church and you will see – one day it will just be

There is over 500 times in the Bible "Fear not"
1 Samuel 10:16
I feel Holy Spirit in my life but I have never been speaking in tongues, shouting or dancing.
Is there any change that you might have a medical problem? Sometimes just fear can make us feel all kind of feelings. Talk to your Lord.
Remember, Jesus died for all of your sins...all the old ones and all the new ones. Be ensured that God knows what you are going through. At least you recognize that your spiritual life has back slided, that is a good thing.
Do not let anything to hinder your relationship with your God. Talk to somebody at your church.

Don't be Afraid! Okay if you've been baptized in the Trinity you are already marked by the Holy Spirit through the living water and Christ's sacrifice. So Jesus, The Holy Spirit, and God are with you. Pray for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, consul, and fortitude...gifts of the Holy Spirit. Read the bible pray for understanding and guidence. Open your heart to Jesus and pray for forgiveness and him to show you how to get back to healthy. As a nurse and Christian I can understand were you are coming from, yes it could be neurological or mental. And it could very well be spiritual as well. That's the cruel aspect of it. Under attack you can appear crazy or unbalanced -it's to scare you . If it is physical there are treatments if not cures as well as spiritually. If you feel it's spiritual pray for protection and sound mind, sound heart, sound body and another gift of The Holy Spirit-right judgement. Try going to a minister or priest and talk about it (as well as a MD if you notice continuing tremors or other symptoms), the churches have counsuling that may help you work through these issues, I'll pray for you. It'll be okay, pray. If you notice other symptoms like racing thoughts, increased sexual urges, rapidly changing moods and irritation it very well could be a mood disorder like bipolar disorder and there is help for it, get help multifocused, medical, mental, and spiritual.

Paul said that not all Christians would get the gift of tounges (1 Corinithians 12). However, all Christians get the Holy Spirit irregardless of whether they speak in tongues or not (Luke 11:12-14; Romans 8:8-10 ).
Proof of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is in a Christian's character, not by the type of gifts that you have (Galatians 5:16-26)

Okay, You say you accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, and that you have backslided, and now you feel a shaking when you stand, sit or anything. It could be that you feel guilty of backsliding, and you need to repent and get your life back in order with God. When I accepted Jesus in my life, I felt immediate release from the bondage of sin, but I did not receive the Holy Ghost at that time, it took years of trying to do right, and constant prayer with the Lord before I was anointed. When the Lord was ready to anoint me He told me on 3 separate occasions to go pray before I finally got on bended knees and prayed to him, for around 3 hours, but when I finished my soul had been cleansed, and I was finally free, and when I walk and talk with God, and to others about God, and His son, I feel exuberant. There is no other feeling like it in the world, you have some tremendous peace that it is surreal. I love God and Jesus with all my heart, soul, and being. I would lay down my life for Jesus, because I love Him that much.

I am a Christian and let me just start with this. You are okay and have nothing to worry about. It may or may not be the Holy Spirit, no person can specifically judge that statement. Just because you did not speak in tongues doesn't mean it wasn't the Holy Spirit. I do know that you need to pray, if this is something you feel might be evil pray in the name of Jesus to release this, at the same time you might want to ask God if this is something he can reveal to you. I do believe whole heartedly that the Holy Spirit appears to all of us in different forms or fashions. I also know that you will feel fear if you are in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to reveal this to you. Either way pray for his protection.

First, please believe that if gave your life to Christ. The Holy Spirit came to live in your heart. There is no demon or devil that can drive the Holy Spirit from you. The Bible doe's speak of a baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in toungues. And people seek and find this in their lives. There are times, a lot of the time, when God would like for us to be still, quiet. Remember, God said to Job that he was in the still, quiet voice. Since you are a relative baby in Christ it is sometimes easy to focus on one aspect of something and miss a bigger, and much grander side of God. First, don't worry about having a demon. You obviously are trying to follow Christ's teaching. If you were somehow possessed, you would not be worried about this issue at all. The shake could well be a medical problem since it happens when you are getting up and sitting down. Your Dr. could run some simple bloodwork to make sure you are not depleted of a mineral or vitamin. Some people, spend so much time focusing on the outward sign of speaking in unknown tongues that they fail to see that new Christians need to build up a good, solid teaching base. Then, as you mature, and realize that you belong to God, and no one, can take you from his hands you will feel the Holy Spirit leading you into speaking in an unknown tongue. You would have to purpose in your heart to turn away from God, and it sure sounds like you want to live your life for God. Pray, then sit quietly, and wait. Learn to be still before God. Then, when you feel the Holy Spirit urging you to speak, you will know its the right time. Please don't worry about the shivers. You are His child. He will hold onto you as long as you will let Him.
