I've read it's more like 250, and that's much more believable. According to the elliptical machine at my gym, I need to work out for about 20-25 minutes at a fairly intense clip to burn 250 calories, and I am sweating and pushing a LOT harder at the gym than in the bedroom. So I will come right out and say that based on the data I have, I believe the 750 figure is flat wrong, and compared with the level of exertion I have to meet to burn 250 calories at the gym, I have my doubts about the 250 figure as well. (What's REALLY depressing is that those 25 minutes of sweating and pounding at the gym amount to the calories in one Snickers bar.)
Admittedly, sex is a whole-body exercise (if you do it right), and you're using large muscle groups (abdominals, gluteals, pecs and lats). Plus there are other metabolic changes going on in the body at the same time. It's quite possible that the body is doing something else during sex that causes it to burn more fuel than just hot-footing it on the elliptical machine. But I'd like to read a medical paper on the matter, with data to back it up. Better yet, I'd LOVE to conduct a study on it; I've always had a secret fantasy to wear a white lab coat and hold a clipboard while strangers had sex in front of me. :-)
As for why I'm not any skinnier, there are 4086 calories in a pound of fat. So if the 250-calorie figure is correct, to lose one pound you'd have to have sex 16 times. To lose 20 pounds, you'd have to have sex 320 times.
Well, it's a start... :-)

To lose that many calories you would have to have rough sex for 12 hours straight. If you run a mile at 6.5 miles an hour you are only burning 50 calories, think of that, when you have sex you are only burning about 50-100 calories. Plus metabolism plays a significant role, fat people have slow metabolisms and eat more food than they burn so the extra is stored as fat. Thin people have a fast metabolism where they burn more or the same as they are consuming.

Its one of the ways you rate the sex life of a couple/marriage. The fatter the couple the less sex in the relationship.
Skinny people eat alot to make up for the amount of weight they lose having sex, so when they're hideous, ugly, or just plain don't have sex they move to the next category: fat people
Fat people don't get thinner because they ain't getting any, they look scary and whatnot naked, and when you can't locate your nether regions sex can be difficult. So no sex for fattties.
and most stars are just drugged up or anorexic which can make weight appear and disappear in two days time
wow i'm a prick

I think that's an exaggeration, maybe 750 for like a whole night's worth or something. It's not like you press a button and poof! there go the calories.

Some of us lose more. I think it depends on your energy level. If you're overweight, you get tired more quickly and want to get it over with faster. If you're skinny and in shape, you can go as long as you want.
