In the case you describe, you say: Disculpa or disculpe.
Disculpa is in the familiar form, and disculpe is in the respectful, formal form.
Pronunciation: Deescoolpah - deescoolpeh (emphasis on "cool")..

Disculpe - When you try to get their attention - such as to ask for the time

Perdon, Con permiso - if you are in someone's way

Here's one more:
Mande? - if someone asked you a question and you didn't quite hear them the first time.. Or if someone is calling your name

BTW I have never heard anyone say "lo siento" that's just what they teach in school but in the streets and in real life no one says it.. I hear perdoname instead

Im Sorry In Spanish

It's translated as "lo siento" when you in English would say "I'm sorry", I mean if you have to apologize for something, but if you want to get someone's attention, where in English you would say "Excuse me", in Spanish you say "Disculpe".

For example if you want to go to Sagrada Familia, you would say
- Disculpe, ¿me podria decir como llegar a la Sagrada Familia?
which in English is
- Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to Sagrada Familia?

Hi. I'm a native Spanish speaker.

If you're trying to get someone's attention you can say:
- Perdón...
- Disculpe...
- Con permiso...

If you're sorry about something then you say:
- Perdón.
- Lo siento.

Not "perdoname" because that means "forgive me".
