My friend died a few years ago. he was 18 years old when he died. his parents made him go to church almost every day and at first he didnt mind going, but as he got older they still made him go almost every day. he always said he hated going because his parents made him. he told them they are only making him never want to go to church. he then started talking about how when he dies hes going to have a desk job in hell. he said this earth is the best that there is. there is no heaven and hell is where we are going. i belive it's because his parents made him go to church every day. he was cathlic, and i am not. he was a strait a student and was the smartest guy I ever knew. he knew everything about anything. he died while he was at college.. he fell from a four story balcony and died instantly.. his funeral was a joke.. i don't know if all cathlic funerals are the same but it was like a freaking sunday church service. i think his parent forced him into hell. am i right?

Firstly let me ask did he commit sucide? If this is the case well then sorry my friend i believe he went down below. But if not, he still may have gone to hell. I say this because although his parents forced him to go to church all the time, i'm sure he had a bible for him to read and he knew of God and Jesus. It was his personal decision to not believe in a heaven or hell. I know this because i am close to his age and my parents also made me go to church every sunday, but i personally chose to believe. It's all about faith and the love for Jesus. If you don't have that then thats very unfortunate and why would the person deserve to go to heaven? But the best way to find out for sure is to pray and have patience. Wait for God to give tell you, even thought it might not be instantly. Let me tell you a quick true story. Once there was a girl who grew up in a christian family. When she was a teen she died. Her parents were in deep grief and desperately wanted to know where she had gone. Sure enough God showed them, and it happened to be in hell. I can not say for sure where your friend has gone but God can tell you. Always remember to have faith, and the devil stricks at any chance he gets so stay close to god. Hope this helped and i'm very sorry to hear about the unfortunate trajedy. God be with you.

His parents did not force him into hell because there is no hell. Look through your entire bible. Does it ever mention Hell? If he committed suicide and if im wrong about the hell thing he still didn't go there. In the Bible King Soloman committed suicide and it was honorable. The suicide thing is just a catholic docterine that a pope made up. Though they did have a good point as to life is to sacred to be destroyed that would mean billions of people would go to Hell. Cause they ended the life of a deer, cochroach, or even a human. Of course i don't know where ur friend ended up only he and God know. If u feel strongly that he went to heaven that's most likely where he ended up.

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. Having had a close friend die myself I understand the grief that it can cause, and I'm sure many other people that will answer can also.

I don't know your friend's heart, but it does sound like he was rejecting the Bible. As much as I wish I could tell you a happy "He's in heaven with God now", it doesn't sound like it. Again, perhaps God got a hold of him at college. It's possible. I hope that it did.

As for whether his parents forced him into hell, I would have to say no. They may have been a negative influence that led him to buck the belief in God, but it was his choice. Everyone has a choice about whether to place their faith in God or not. You get to make it in this life, and then its over. Faith in Jesus Christ is what saves us, and in the end it is our own decision whether to make that choice.

I am sorry you lost your friend. It sounds like he was very smart. In response to your question, I don't think most of us like to think about death and the concepts of heaven and hell. But the reality is that we will all die one day, and it is so important to think about these concepts now so that we can be ready when the time comes. I will share with you what the Bible says about heaven and hell. The Bible says that "God so loved the world that He sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him may not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). This means that God loves each of us so much that He sent Jesus to take our sins upon Himself so that we could go to heaven and not hell. In a sense you could say that Christ went to hell in our place so that we would not have to. This does not mean that we are all automatically saved (go to heaven). A person has to make a personal decision in their heart. When you personally accept what Christ did for you on that cross, the Bible says you are saved which means you go to heaven. Only God knows the heart of your friend. Going to church or not going to church does not save you; you are only saved through faith in Christ. That's what the Bible says.

What a sad story....He is not in hell; the only hell he ever experienced was the torment his parent's put him through here on earth.

I hear you about the funeral service; my grandfather's funeral was at a large charismatic church and they passed an offering plate. The money did not even go to my grandmother.....oh pitty their evil souls, who think they are so righteous.

"Did my friend go to hell?"
Tough question, as you give no details to his life. Was he ignoring the humans around him? Did he force people into bad choices to hurt them or others (family members of other college students)?
Probably not - if you imply that being a straight A student = good man. Then, one can deduce he is in heaven. People that are involved helping others usually do not go to hell. (being self involved, petty - usually go to hell)
The question of force - of breaking a person free will to the majority, makes me worry for the parents more than your friend. Listening and trusting are important when raising children.
Please stay involved with the community and others. I hope I provided some calming of your spirit.

First I want to say I'm sorry about your freind. i known how it is to loose a close friend at such a young age.
His parents didn't force him into hell he made the choice himself. If he put his trust in Jesus the Christ he is in heaven but if he did not he is in hell. no one know the heart of a man but God. Remember John 3:16-19 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Note in particular vs. 18
again i'm sorry for the loss of your freind
and please keep in mind these verses apply to you too. if you would like for me to help you understand more feel free to email me

Chances are very good that your friend will be resurrected and have a chance to learn about God based on the truth of the Bible. He has died and therefore paid the price required for sin which we all inherited from Adam. Also Jesus has covered over his sins with the sacrifice he made of his perfect human life on our behalf. You could be there to see him when he is resurrected. Wouldn't that be wonderful??

I dont think so-personally, I believe that nothing in nature is wasted, and that includes us.Just as a candle burns and gives off light and heat (and a sweet aroma, depending what the candle is made out of), nothing is lost, only changed. It sounds like your friend was a special person, and a shooting star that lit up the night sky for a moment. He is going to be allright. hang in there

No I don't think so. In fact I am sure God knew that your friend was just doing the best he could to cope with what he thought was a bad situation. If he was in hell it was during the time when he had parents who didn't understand what their son needed.
