What kind of Martini are you wanting to make? Gin or Vodka? The basic Martini goes for both Gin or Vodka.
Gin or Vodka 1 1/4 oz
Dry Vermouth (based on how dry you like it)
Olives
Shaker and Strainer
Ice
Pour the Gin or Vodka and Vermouth over ice. Shake or stir. Strain into Martini glass and garnish with an a few olives.
For a Dry Martini use less Vermouth. For a less Dry use more vermouth. Dirty use the brine from the olives.
Below is a site that is great. Next time you need to know how to make something go to this site.

Martinis are just about endless nowadays, but they used to be strictly Vodka or Gin with a whisper of dry or sweet vermouth, depending on the drinker. Shaken or stirred in a martini shaker with ice and strained into a glass. James Bond liked his Vodka Martinis straight ( no vermouth ) and shaken, not stirred. Here's my favorite kind of late:
Black Martini
2 oz. Bombay Blue Sapphire Gin
1 oz. Chamborg ( Raspberry liquer)
In shaker, blend over ice and strain into glass. garnish with red raspberries and a sprig of mint.

Dirty Martini
2 1/2oz vodka or gin of choice.
1/2oz or less of the brine from the cocktail olives depending on how dirty you want to be.
Hint of dry vermouth.
Shake cold, serve in a martini glass. Garnish with olives. Some enjoy stuffing their olives with cheese, or experimenting with a wide range of olives available at most quality delis

depends on what kind..there are many..for an apple martini you need apple flavored Vodka, apple schnapps and apple juice (optional) and sweet & sour. the apple juice makes it taste less like a jolly rancher. Or you can make a Blue martini which is Blue Caracao, Vodka , sweet & sour.

Vodka , Dry Vermouth, and olives. For best results, only use enough vermouth to dip the olives in & chill a good vodka, like
Ketel One or Grey Goose.

The same as are needed in a bar: gin, vermouth, and an olive. Substituting an onion makes it a Gibson.

Add a touch of Frank Sinatra...
