You can do this problem.
Convert 30 % to a decimal by dividing by 100 or just moving the decimal 2 places to the left so your new number is .3
Then multiply .3 times 27.99 it's not that hard. That number will be your "amount of discount" You would then subtract that amount from 27.99
A shortcut would be to realize if you are gettng 30 % off, you are really paying 70 % so you could convert 70 % to .7 then multiply by 27.99 and you'd be done.
(Don't forget to count the decimal place in the .7 when you place your decimal in the answer)



Ok ok.. the answer is 19.593 which rounds to $19.59
