I don't want to burn very many calories, but I need cardiovascular exercise that I can do indoors to strengthen my heart (it's 100 degrees outside right now).

Cardiovascular exercise is going to burn calories. Could you maybe eat a little more? Any exercise that gets your heart rate up will strengthen your heart. Dancing, jogging or stepping in place, jumping jacks, walking up and down stairs are all exercises you can do inside.

First of all, stop complaining about the weather. I live in Central California and we just had a heat wave where it was a 112 degrees outside. Secondly, the best thing for you to do is swim. Swimming works every muscle in your body. Don't knock it 'til you try it!
