Surfing with surf board sorry. Petoskey State park has a nice beach. It is in little Traverse BAy. Wind surfing or kite boarding yes. If you get bored take the kayak trip on the sturgoen river from Tomahawk in indian river 20mi away. Nice river, challenging paddle.

The appropriate question would be is there any good way to get to the surf from Michigan. I have surfed and it doesn't happen in Michigan unless you are desperate and then at best you might want to check out the beach during a storm then you will have the waves you are looking for. GOOD LUCK!
