Wat do you think Jesus looks like? I get tired of seeing paitings of Jesus with long flowing blond hair, pale skin, and blue eyes which is odd since his mother was Jewish. By the way I'm not a christian, I'm just curious as to what people think.

You make a good point. His unjewish appearance doesn't help anti-semitism problems. I recall a documentary that said Jewish sculls from the 1st century are round and robust. And there is evidence that that hair was dark and curly. He would have been old looking for his age traveling the dry desert.

What is the point with the question?
To be Jewish is a way of living and is NOT a race.
There still are and were Semitic people with blue eyes also at that time. Do remember that the blond and blue eyed Greeks had conquered the land some hundred of years before the Romans. To have blue eyes is the result of a mutation and also to having white skin and it can occur anywhere to anyone. Albinism is something else.
Jesus was an educated man and he spoke Greek of course as well as his brother Jacob, who wrote in an excellent Greek - read his letters in Greek, you find them in the Bible.

He was living withing a Jewish community, and he was referred to as a Rabi. A Rabi past and present do general have long hair, with beard. I have seen many Jewish people with different hair colors, and colored eyes. I wouldn't think his look would be that groomed as if he came out of the saloon, but it is very likely he did have a long hair, and it is possible he had blue eyes, anything is possible. He was traveling around and preaching to all people, so he probably was dressed in simple clothing, with long hair and had a beard. It is also possible he had blue eyes. who knows. If you look at people 100 years ago, 200 yrs, or 2000 years, you will find that people did change in how they looked in the past as to compare to today. People are generally becoming taller, living longer and their appearance also changed considerably, just a thought to consider!
I am a Christian, and I picture him with a gentle face, a loving caring face. To me it doesn't matter what the arts depict him in all of those portraits.
As for today, people will depict Jesus in the image that feels closer to the audience. If the spectators are Asian, then He becomes one, if they are Black, so is he in their eyes, and if they are white, the same goes. and on and on.

Does it matter how he really looked like, or who He really is! Shouldn't that matter the must!

When He was living as a man, He was Jewish, dark features.... I also read that He was not very physically attractive, although I don't recall where I read that, so I'm not sure about that.

Now, He is Spirit and there are a couple of descriptions in the Bible about that.

I also recall reading somewhere that one painting of Jesus (don't recall which) was actually of a man who had been in prison. The artist asked him to sit for the portrait.

When I think of Jesus I see a kind, unselfish, loving person. I see no physical discription at all. I know he conformed to God's laws and demands so therefore He would have to have short hair, since he was from the Middle East I would assume He would have dark features. What does it matter what He looked like, it is His love for us that draws us to Him, and His ultimate sacrifice He made to ensure that us, Gentiles would have a place in Heaven.

Really, Ive never seen pictures of him that way. The pictures I see are tan skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. I dont see Him like that though. I know He supposedly wasnt really handsome so girls wouldnt like lust after Him. I see an amazing man that has something different about Him, even if its not appearence wise. That you feel peace in love just being in the same room or hearing Him talk. Like a daddy sort of love.

Most scholars agree that the historical Jesus probably looked almost nothing like the popular depiction of him, but I guess people had/have a need to create an image of him for various reasons. As far what I think he looked like, I have no idea. And I really don't think it matters anyway.

HE must have looked like Most Jewish men of his time.
If not it would have been pointed out.

" What colour of skin did the man known as Jesus Christ have ? "
A -- No problem ! I can answer you. Your answer in one word "Brown" !

All the people on this planet Earth are descendants from the first couple -
Adam and Eve. We are ALL just shades of that same colour !

Hold a sheet of Real White and Real Black paper up against your skin.
I can tell you "for certain" that your skin colour matches neither of these
paper colour samples. We are all "off white - or - BROWN !

WE ARE ALL OF THE SAME COLOUR because we are all indeed
descendants of that couple. Because of protective pigmentation we
are of different shades indeed.

What a beautiful example of how OUR MAKER designed us and built
a protective system into our skins to protect us from the suns rays !

Few people realize that The Bible does not say anything in opposition to
what is referred to as "mixed marriages". This is precisely why.

If "mixed marriages" do not work in our society, as it is today, it is because
of the arrogance of man. To "prove" superiority they often use gross
misinterpretations of Bible passages or misapply a Bible passage to
make it look like it proves them correct.

I'm guessing a dirty arab hippie type. I don't mean that in a negative way. He was probably a really cool guy to hang around, like Buddha, I'm an atheist, sort of, so take that for what it's worth. But I'd like to think I have a good impression of the guy (I also went to Catholic school from Kindergarten through high school).

Jesus probably looked like most Middle Easterners of his day - namely, dark-featured (skin, hair, eyes). All those pictures of a white Jesus are the product of the cultural conceit of the Westerners who painted them.
