You are fine, just the way you are. Beyonce and Mariah Carey are F.A.T. ...FABUOUS AND THICK. Just concentrate on excercising to be healthy, not to lose weight

First of all you need to rephrase your question. Your question should be how much fat should I lose?
Body weight is comprised of muscle and organ tissue, fat tissue, and water (blood) weight. Muscle and water are our friends. And you’re a women fat is also your friend. Nothing worse than a grown woman that’s built like a little boy!
You’re doing very good you are one of the few people your age at least asking questions! The more questions you ask yourself the better off you will be! To give you a specific answer to your question you need to have a body fat percentage of somewhere between 20-30 percent. You’re weight is 178 pounds you are probably 29-34 percent body fat this is only a guess based upon how you describe yourself. That’s not too bad!
My advice is start making good choices. This will be hard for you to do, but trust me it will be worth the effort. God gave you common sense start using that sense it when you eat. What is better for you a twinkie or an apple? What is better for you a steak or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? You’ve got the sense to figure that out don’t you? If you start making smart choices and those smart choices will give you the outcome that you want! Don’t worry about your weight just start making smart choices and everything will work out!

At 5'7" and 13 years old you shouldn't weigh more than 160 pounds. And that is with generous curves. I would definitey aim to lose 10 pounds in the first month, but you have to run two miles every other day. And the lift weights every other day. If you hate to run, then you can swim. Good luck, I've been trying to lose weight forever. But I am old. Even playing basketball for an hour would help you.

Because you are only 13, I would suggest not to worry too much about losing weight. Just be active by joining sports teams at school. You should also remember to eat and drink healthily: the key is to stay away from fried food and soda/sugar-packed beverages. Drink lots of water, and try not to eat late at night. Being health is a life style. If you live the life, the weight will come off naturally (that is if you need to lose weight)

If adult, your BMI is 27. Lose 40 pounds and have 21 BMI. 19 to 24 normal. 30-- obese. Links page has gov. BMI site. Plug in age and get more accurate info.
Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

I would say 25-30 lbs ... If you joined a gym thats a good start ..try to stay motivated ...do it for yourself if you want to lose weight. ... You said you only joined for a month, you will need more than a month ... See if there is a ladies fitness place called "Curves for women " its a 30 minute work out and they help you out alot. ... I belong there and i have lost 20 lbs in 3 months ... Good luck
