I'm in the Army Reserves and I've been thinking about going Active duty...everyone is telling me it's hard and that I shouldn't do it.

Depends; I assume from your gender you're not going into an infantry unit, so you'll be sharing your life with a bunch of people you may never know by their first names, but will never forget as long as you live. Downsides: If you get seriously wounded, they'll dump your *** in a VA hospital and forget you; once you're on active duty you're stuck . YOU have to hold up your end of the contract- the Army can change the terms, or just void them as they wish. Ask some of the people who were supposed to get out who've been waiting for permission to leave months after their enlistments were up. By the way, the benefits they promise are also at their leisure to simply abrogate. I know; retired grunt First Sergeant.

If you are already in the reserve, then you are familiar with military life. Do you want a full time job? Do you enjoy your reserve enlistment? Would you be fulfilled by the military?

These are the questions you should be asking yourself, instead of a bunch of starangers on a worldwide chat board.

You already have your MOS, just take the jump to full time work.

Just think of it this way....if you think that is hard.

I went from AD Air Force to AD Army....now that was a pain you shouldnt have any problem just let them know and they will throw you in there.

You have already been through boot and AIT so you shouldnt have a problem.

Are you intending to make a career of the Army? Just remember that chances are you will be sent to Iraq. You will see killing, blown up people & your life will be on the line every moment. It is very hot, dusty, dirty, scary - well - heck yeah - Go!
