I have two close best friends that I consider virtually equal. Have you been in this situation? How do you choose who to be your best man? (I have no brothers.)

Wow. I've never heard of two best men. But say I want to keep it traditional--just one. How? Any criteria?

how about the one that you have been friends with the longest, that has gone through more stuff with you. How about the one that you can tell how you really feel about your fiance without being embarrassed.

I don't know exactly how it works but sometimes there will be a lot of guys that the groom selects and a lot of girls that the bride selects and it's like the best-man/bride's maid(en) posse. I don't know what it's called but I think you still need to pick one specific best man.

As for this choice you could select one as the best man and then later on down the road in life you can repay the other friend in an equal way somehow. That's the only logical answer I can see besides flipping a coin or something.

Choose the one with the best sense of humor. You may need that to calm your nerves. Also, make sure to include the other friend in some very special way, like doing a reading, singing a song, playing an instrument during the reception. My husband had the same problem, but since one was a classical guitarist, he was asked to play the ceremony music...problem solved.

Yeah I was going to say that it would be your best friend but you have two! I would talk to both of them at the same time and tell them that you would like for either to be best man and maybe just draw straws. I would have them both involved though in the wedding so the other does not feel left out. Or better yet, just have two best man's with both standing up there with you. Congratulations!

first: how many brides maids is your fiance having, if she has 2 then you should have 2, so they all have someone to walk down the isle with.

My boyfriend has always said that the man that will stand next to him will be the man who has had the greatest influence on his life. The one who has truely helped him into becoming the man he is today. The one who has been with him through all the hard times, and has never turned his back on him. The one who is always there when ever he calls, and has been a true, honest, influence on his life. A best man is someone who has shaped you into becoming the man that you are today.

Well, I was going to say just have 2 best men, but if you're determined to keep it more "traditional" then I'd probably ask each of them (separately) if they would mind if you selected someone else to serve as your best man. I don't think guys get as worked up over this as girls do either, so you might luck out on this one. You could also select your father for your best man if you feel close to him, and have the 2 friends to be groomsmen. Best of luck to you!

There was a similar situation on Friends when Ross was going to marry Emily. He couldn't decide who was going to be his best man. You could have 2 best men or...you could do it this way...
If all of you are close then you could have one friend be the best man in your wedding and then your other friend would be the best man at your first friend's wedding. Then you would get to be the best man at your second friend's wedding. That way you all get a chance to be a best man...
Or like when Chandler married Monica, Ross was Chandler's best man and Joey was ordained and married them. One of you friends could become ordained and perform the ceremony while the other was your best man. See there are lots of solutions!! You just need to watch more friends.

If none of these suit you...you could make up a game to see which one of them knows you better, whoever wins...that's your best man!!

Have two best men. Then you do not have to choose. The one you have known the longest stands next to you. This is how you explain to them. It is your wedding, do what feels right and good! Treat them equally. Congratulations!!!

If you did want to keep it at just one, then you already have one in mind.
