It depends what kind of coffee cake it is.
If you don't like the idea of having sour cream in your coffee cake, just keep searching for a coffee cake that does not require any sour cream.
Here are a few cakes that you make like to try baking:
Blueberry Coffee Cake
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a Bundt pan well with cooking spray.
Make the streusel topping: Mix 1 brown cup sugar, 2/3 cup flour, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Cut in 1/2 cup butter or margarine; topping mixture will be crumbly. Set aside.
For the cake: Beat 1/2 cup butter or margarine in large bowl until creamy; add 1 cup white sugar, and beat until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Whisk together 2 cups flour, baking powder, and salt; add alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
Spread half the batter in the prepared pan. Cover with berries, and add remaining batter by tablespoons. Cover with streusel topping.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 55 to 60 minutes, until deep golden brown. Remove pan to wire rack to cool. Invert onto a plate after cake has cooled, and dust with confectioners' sugar.
Apple Coffe Cake
Ingredients for Filling:
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
3 apples, peeled, cored & thinly sliced
Ingredients for Cake:
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
5 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
confectioners sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a ring cake pan.
Toss sugar, cinnamon, and apples. Set aside.
In a bowl with an electric mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs, oil, orange juice, and vanilla; beat at low speed for 1 minute. Spoon 1/3 of batter into pan. Add 1/2 the apple mixture. Add another third of the batter, layer the rest of the apples, and top with remaining batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 70 minutes. Let cool before removing from pan. A long, thin knife or spatula may be needed to pull cake from sides of pan.
(by the way, a coffe cake with sour cream is good. You don't really taste it at all, it is just for softening and such...)
Good luck!

Bisquick Coffee Cake Recipe
This recipe is one of my favorites. It used to be on the back of the Bisquick box, but they replaced it a few years ago. I'm posting it here not only to share it, but as a backup in case I lose my recipe card :)
Dough
2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cup water or milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons sugar
Topping
1/3 cup Bisquick
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
6 servings
35 minutes 10 mins prep
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease a deep pie plate, 8"x8" square pan, or 9"x9" square pan.
Mix dough incredients and put in baking dish.
Mix topping ingredients with a fork or pastry mixer until crumbly.
Spread topping mix over dough and drag a butter knife across like you were making a tic-tac-toe board several times.
Bake for 25 minutes.

Sour cream moistens and adds a slight tangy flavor to the recipe. You can substitute yogurt in same amount and add a teaspoon of lemon juice and get a better flavor with less calories.
Here's one without the sour cream

It will not taste of sour cream. Sour cream gives it a soft crumb.
