Yes they may still spray. He may just be dirty sometimes they like to get into some smelly places, or roll around on where they are another cat has peed to mark it with the sent markers on their face. Give your kitty a bath! Have someone help you-you can use a soapy washrag then a clean wet one to take the soap off. Make sure you use a cat safe soap!

Yes, neutered cats can spray, but are less likely to once the testosterone level drops after the neutering. And where he sprays would have the smell, not necessarily he, himself.
Have you had a vet exam for him since you acquired him?
He may have a urinary tract problem which causes him to smell.
If his physical checks out, and he is in fact neutered (and doesn't have an undescended testicle), give him a thorough bath (r have him professionally bathed, and see if that does the trick.

Yes. If it has been done at a late age. You should of been given some information from your vet after your cat was neutured. But in the mean time love your pet. GL.

Yes, especially an older cat who has sprayed a lot in his day. It may take a long time for him to get out of the habit, or need.

sure, a male cat has a tendency to start spraying around 5 or 6 months of age. They spray to mark their territory and the scent is poor and intensely puzzling to get rid of. in case you propose on adopting a stray, take it to the vet first to make useful it does no longer have worms (which will reason the cat to poop everywhere), fleas or the different sort of ailment, plus get it fixed formerly bringing it into your dwelling house.

Theoretically no, neutered cats don't spray. But if he's unhappy with his litterbox, he may be urinating outside of it. That will make your house stink. He also may not be a pro at cleaning himself--pet stores have pet wipes. Stick them in the microwave for a little bit, then wipe him down. Many cats love it.

If you get them neutered before they've started spraying, they're less likely to, but sometimes they still will. I had a male cat who was neutered while young and he never sprayed. Then I had to move and gave him to my daughter who had several other cats, and he does it a lot now. I guess it's a territorial thing.

I have a male cat who was neutered almost 2 years ago with a laser surgery technique and he most certainly still sprays. I know this because one time he sprayed me! I almost invented the cat-a-pult!

Yes, they can still spray and will do so if it was an ingrained habit or if they feel threatened. The distinctive tomcat odor should be much reduced or absent; if it's still there, your cat may have a retained testicle. (Your vet may say they 'only found one' but truly monorchid cats are extremely rare.)

It is possible, but most male cats, once neutered do not do that. If the smell persists, take him to the vet.
