I didn't notice any big weight change. I recently switched to Prozac because I was having too much anxiety and it seemed like the Lexapro was causing GERD. The Prozac seems to be working better for me along with adderall and xanax for my depr, ADHD and anx. Good luck to you. The only other thing I can add is be careful hanging out on the internet trying to dx & rx yourself; I damn near made myself crazy doing that.

Iv'e been on either Lexapro or its predecessor, Celexa, for close to 5 years, and I take it in combo with Seroquel and Lithium for bipolar disorder. I have been the most stable I've ever been on these drugs-- even well enough to wean off the lith and have a baby! I have had some gradual weight gain, but am aware that it had been around long before I took Lexapro and may be more from my lifestyle than anything else.

I'm not really sure whether lexapro can cause weight gain or not, but I do know that depression can. If you're someone who gains weight while depressed, I think any anti-depressant would be worth a shot...not to mention the possibility that you just might be happier.
