I know a gentleman who is looking to buy a car with the following features. What do you recommend?
1) Does not want a "sissy " car
2) Wants good gas mileage
3) Not horribly expensive

Any insight?

Well it depends, does he want to buy a used car or a new car?
I consider good gas milage to be above 27 miles per gallon.
A manly used car that gets about 26 miles per gallon, is a chevy camaro. The manual gets around 28, that really good for a v8, or you could get the v6 even better. Also another good used car is a 2000-04 mustang, 31 mpg, 190 hp, not really expensive. You can find both of those cars with less than 20K miles for around than 15 thousand. On the other end, you could get a new car, honda accords are good, great mileage, reliable, and fairly cheap. Another to consider are any small SUV's, such as the ford exscape, and the honda crv. They are quite reliable and manly, and for an SUV they get fairly good mileage, around 26 MPG. Just remember to keep away from most trucks and SUV's. Test drive all options before you decide on a car. Good luck with your Purchase. Scott

The Pontiac Solice is pretty cool sports car and so sporty. Low 20's I believe but go to web and search the name. Smart purchase would be a hybrid.

Hmmm...does he want a sports car? A sedan? If he buys a Mustang make sure he gets the V-8...I'd get a Miata, 99 or newer. The rock and they don't yell "small PNS" like a red vette...

Get a small pickup - Ford Ranger or Chevy S10. With a bed cover they get 22-24 MPG.
