Conjunctivitis. Inflammation of the conjunctiva. Either bacterial or viral. Easily spread. Produces pus like junk in the corner of the eye that can interfere with vision and make the eyelashes stick together. Antibiotic ointment/eyedrops is needed. Call the doctor

This suggests and infiltrative keratitis. The cornea is inf lammed with white blood cells coalescing in the deeper layers forming the "specs." This person needs an evaluation by an eye care practitioner.
