There isn't any branch in the Army that is responsible for it overall. In Garrison, its handles through the Directorate of Public Works at Installation level..... in a field or war time environment it handled either by contract or with each unit basically handling thier own waste and transpoting them to a central collection facility and that is usually overseen by the engineers and medical (usually envronmental medicine) staffs and personnel.

The Army Air Force is responsible for saluting. The Army Marines are responsible for marching. The Army Navy is responsible for football and finally Haliburton is responsible for the Militarily's money. Any questions?

That is typically taken care of my some cities, but more than likely garbage pick up is private enterprise. The sewers would be covered by your local water department.

Over in Iraq Halliburton gets paid for about everything, meals, food services, supplies, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't do garbage, too. Get big bucks, too thousands and thousands more than the grunts who use to do it. This is a catered conflift, Halliburton caters, our kids get served up.
