Make the cake- let it cool.
Soften the ice cream enough to be pliable. Put in on the cake in the mold you want that is covered with plastic wrap or wax paper.
Put the whole thing back in the freezer until its hard. Then you can frost it. Put it all back in the freezer again until ready to serve (take it our 30 mins. before serving).

you get an ice cream maker and then you have to add crushed ice and pure cream and then flavor of your choice.
