My son is going through the same.
Tantrums - oh yes. He is testing limits.
Masturbation - it's normal too! Please don't make him feel bad when does touch his own penis. Just explain to him there are some places he can do it, like private in his bedroom for instance. Keep this simple. He'll understand.

throwing tantrums is normal for a two year old that is why they call it terrible twos. As for Mastrubation. I would not call it that. Your son has no idea what masturbation is. He is just a curious two year old that found this little thing hanging off his body. It is totally normal. I have a 7 month old son. He just learned that he has something down there and grabs for it everytime i change his diaper, but i would never call that masturbation.

Well, at 2 they don't know what masturbation is. My son will poke at his penis in the bath, but no other time. When they do touch it just ignore it. AS for th tantrums, unless they are in danger of harming themselves, like throwing themselves on the floor too close to stairs, ignore that too, and it will not last long

Sounds like my ideal kid...
:D
He's only two. Just don't let him be naked outside the house, or play with himself outside his bedroom. As for tantrums, can't help you there... I'm not sure how to handle that one myself.

annnnnnnnnnnndddd, what's wrong with a 2 year old masturbating? When my son was young... about that age, it seemed that all he wanted to do was play with himself. I taught him that he needed to do that in a private place, because that was something that was personal (not yuccky)... and eventually, they out grow the phase. One of the worst things to do is to scold and make your child feel dirty. Know that masturbating is a way of self soothing right now and s/he will grow out of it!

Boys will be boys! Mine didn't start acting like this until he turned 3. Poor you!
Try telling him that we don't touch our "pee pee's" unless we are cleaning it or going potty. Or what I do, just always always keep something on the bottom half of him at all times! :) And whenever you catch him, tell him to stop. Hopefully he'll oblige.

sounds like a two year old boy, or any curious two year old realizing they have a body of their own. its not sexual, its normal.
Keep clothes on the child and tell them not to do that because its yucky and a sensitive part of their body.

there is no way of aswering that question because kids will be kids an they will go by what ever they see so you should be careful what you do around him or her even if you think he is not watching
