Probably the best bet would be a secured card.
With the charge-offs etc, banks see your default history as good reason you will you default in the future.
A secured card functions like a normal credit card but you have to make a cash deposit equal to that of your desired credit limit. Many of them have an annual fee attached to them too.
Your deposit isn't touched while you have the card unless you default (don't pay) on the loan. Then after a few months of responsible usage, the bank may issue you with a normal unsecured card and you get your deposit back.
Good luck!

I agree that a credit card isn't always the answer for someone with some credit issues. However, I don't say this to be judgemental, rather...from experience. Less than a year out of chapter 7 bankruptcy, I was sent an offer from capital one. I actually have a variable rate, but right now it is 16.15%....could be worse. I had higher interest rates with good credit. My limit is small, but that is safer and fine with me. My credit score was actually a lot lower than yours too. Try www.capitalone.com
And yes, applying for multiple cards and being turned down dinks your credit rating. Just a thought.

Try to find a large company that offers cards for people with poor credit history. Unfortunately you'll usually pay a higher interest rate, but this will get you started at least. Then, you can pay it off and make payments for a while to build your credit. If this doesn't work you may need to start with a secured card.

Hello,
There are actually cards out there that help peple in your situation. Many people get in trouble but there is a credit card out there called the Orchard Bank Mastercard which is for people who are trying to rebuild their credit. I would definitely look into them. It is a good way to get you credit back on track. Here is a link to that card.

Sounds like a credit card is something you shouldn't have or your financial situation will get even worse. It's like latting a baby play with a 44 Magnum.

648 is not that really bad. Check out www.whogavemecredit.com and plug in your scores. Really try juniper, carnival sea miles or us airways. They are a sub prime lender so be careful with the APR but I have seen them approve people with lower credit scores than yours. Good Luck!

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to get credit again. Suck it up for a couple years and save some money, then dip into to the savings for vacation or a new TV.

I know where you are coming from and here is your answer. The following creditcard companies below should grant you a pretty hefty credit line with the information you provided.
