Jesus in fact promoted six, 5 came from one of the versions of the 10 commandments in the old testament, and he introduced one new one:

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and [thy] mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matther 22:36-40

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love he Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

If you observe these two commandments, completely, then all the other commandments fall into place.

We are supposed to follow all 12. But the 2 greatest are the ones He gave to love God and to love thy neighbor, and then the other 10 fall into place

Ephesians 2:10 explains it: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath formerly ordained that we could continually walk in them." we are saved by applying faith on my own. yet as quickly as we are saved the outcomes of that salvation would be a replaced life that does good works. If being saved did no longer substitute us, someway make us distinctive, make us greater perfect, or help us do the stunning element, what could be the element of it? The commandments you checklist are actually not what we do to get saved, yet extremely how we are able to stay because of the fact we are saved.

the problem is you cant uphold any of those commandments unless Christ or His Holy Spirit lives within your heart. This is the new covenant between God and his people. If you accept Christ as Lord and Saviour, God writes his commandments on your heart and mind.

Follow it all. Honoring God comes first and doing these as a result. Honoring parents after God still honors God.

they are the kind that want to believe what suits them. this is the attitude of some christians that the bible refers to who will be around when Christ returns. so look for Him! He's coming soon.
