I have horriable, all day headaches because I clench my jaw and grind my teeth at night. I wear a mouth guard but it doesn't help. I heard about the NTI devices. Anyone else hear or know about them. I just want relief!

Someone in the same boat as me. Mine is pretty bad as well. Four months ago it locked for three days, and now I can only open a little bit. Oral surgeon says all the ligaments and muscles have locked up. Is your mouth guard the kind you get from your dentist? If not that is what you need. I researched the NTI device and it is only for light to moderate cases of TMD. I am getting my guard in two weeks, got molds done a week and half ago. Just waiting for it to come. Hopefully I will finally get some relief. If you do have a special made guard, are going in regularly and getting it fitted, if not that could be your problem as well. I was told I would be going in weekly for adjusts until my jaw decides to open. Lots of research has led me to suspect I might be stuck this way. Heard lots of cases people living this way for years. Another huge problem for me is that damn insurance will not cover TMD. Well good luck!!

The NTI is a decent treatment device, but in my opinion it is for temporary use only. Once you get comfortable, you need more definitive treatment, even if it is a "full coverage" night guard.
