The Sons of God

The Muslim takes strong exception to the Christian dogma that "Jesus is the only begotten son, begotten not made". This is what the Christian is made to repeat from childhood in his catechism. I have asked learned Christians, again and again as to what they are really trying to emphasize, when they say: "Begotten not made".

They know that according to their own God given (?) records, God has sons by the tons:

"...Adam, which was the son of God."(Luke 3:38)

"That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair... And when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them..." (Genesis 6: 2,4)

"...Israel is My son, even My firstborn:" (Exodus 4:22)

"...for I (God) am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn." (Jeremiah 31:9)

"...the Lord hath said unto me (David): 'Thou art My son: this day have I begotten thee." (Psalms 2:7)

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 18:14)

Can't you see that in the language of the Jew, every righteous person, every Tom, Dick and Harry who followed the Will and Plan of God, was a "Son of God". It was a metaphorical descriptive term commonly used among the Jews. The Christian agrees with this reasoning, but goes on to say: "but Jesus was not like that". Adam was made by God. Every living thing was made by God, He is the Lord, Cherisher and Sustainer of all. Metaphorically speaking therefore God is the Father of all. But Jesus was the "begotten" son of God, not a created son of God ?

Please read John 10: 33-38. Here I am quoting from the New International Version...

33"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a ere man, claim to be God."
34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'? 35 If he called them 'gods' to whom the word of God came- and the scripture cannot be broken - 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse e of blasphemy because I said, ' I am God's Son'? 37 Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38 But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

Matthew 26:63-64 (New International Version)

63 But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." 64 "Yes, it is as you say, " Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."

I hope this helps you believe. Peace and grace to you, friend.

Matthew 3:17

17and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased."

John 5:17-19

17But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I am working."

Jesus Is Equal with God
18This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

The Authority of the Son
19So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father[a] does, that the Son does likewise.

Read the Gospels! John 3:16 Jesus always refered to God as father! The temptation in the desert. Satan asks "If you are the son of God!" Jesus was challenged by being asked " You say you are God's son, then come down from that cross!"

He first said this when He was twelve, when He stayed in the temple and mary and joseph left jerusalem and had to go back for Him.
Jews are a pluralistic people, when they pray for instance, they would say "our Father," they would speak in terms of community. We however speak in terms of the individual and is a consequence of the greek mindset we have inherited, and in my vew is the cause of the way our society today is suffering because people only care for themselves. But going back to the question; when a jew speaks about God they would call Him Avinu or our Father, but Jesus said when being scolded by mirriam in a typical jewish mother style for not being with them when He shouldve been, "what are you trying to do to us?," Yeshua said, "should I not be about MY Fathers business?" Answering a question with another!! a jew at this time would immediatly grasp what He was saying, He was calling Yah His direct Father, which was only pertainable to the Moshiach. There are many instances where the truth has been distorted by anti semetic translators of the bible trying to take from it its jewishness which has in turn taken away a lot of its meaning. Another instance is where gabriel tells Yoseph to name the child Jesus for He will save His people, which does not really mean anything, but what was actually said was you shall call Him Yahoshua for He shall oshua His people. Yahoshua literally translates as "I am salvation," and with this moniker, He did exactly what He said on the tin.

People at that time and in this time, question the authority of Jesus Christ. This is wrong.

He told us countless times and in parables and teachings and healings who He was without directly saying it.

"If only they could turn and be healed, if only they could turn and see and hear".

Here He spoke of the Love of God, The Word of God, and The Light of God.

But we are blinded by the human conditon and refuse to see the light through our selfinflicted ignorance.

He said also " I Testify for The One who sent me, for I was with Him before, and will be again soon". Here He is teaching about coming directly from The Father ( God ) and knowing about His crucifixtion.

" None will enter the Kindom of Heaven unless He believes through The son of man. He is called the son of man, because He immaculatly came to us through Holy Mother Mary to be of man, but from GOD.

The Bible and other scriptures are not so difficult to understand. If only we stop thinking of them as ' books' and SEE and HEAR the spiritual messages and teachings.

Peace

Jesus (peace be on him) is a prophet and messenger of Allah sent to the Israelites to invite them back to the path of submission and obedience to Allah.

He was born to virgin Mary (peace be on her) without a father. His birth is similar to the creation of Adam, who had no father or mother. Jesus spoke even when he was a baby and gave testimony to the Oneness of God. He was neither crucified nor killed.

He was son of Mary, not son of God. He was not God but a human being. Believing in any one as God other than the one God, the Almighty and the Creator, is an unforgivable sin.
