Cats are pretty good at eating only what they need. Our orphan, Moby: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/Moby.html, was fed all he wanted. No apparent problems. We cleaned him up, took him to the vet, got him checked out, and the vet said not to worry about it, so we didn't. He's a year old now and is doing fine. He picks on the other cats and the dog, Perry, quite a bit, so we know he's healthy.

'nuff said?

This may not be the answer you are looking for. I too found a sick kitten and took it in to nurse it back to health. However, this kitten had ring worm and ended up infecting myself, my 2 dogs, a litter of puppies and my cat. I have spent nearly $200 in shampoos and topical treatments and have spent the last 3 weeks bleaching everything in sight and bathing animals, I see no end to this problem. I would take the kitten to a shelter before I would risk infecting my family.

Call a local vet. If you plan to keep it, make an appointment for a wellness check. They will estimate it's age then further instruct you. Ring worm is a pain but it's not that horrible, you just need to wash your hands and if possible isolate the kitten. There is a vaccine for ringworm by the way.YOur best bet is to take it to the vet. Good luck! Very kind of you to take it in!

It should say on the box for trhe weight of the baby. Bless you for taking care of it and curse the assholes that abandoned it, some people really need to be put to sleep so badly. Theres also a special type of water with the minerals you need. pet smart probably has something better then walmart and believe it or not probably for less.

About every two hours. You should let your animal control officer know about it just in case it has a disease. Another thing you need to do is to gently massage the belly towards the tail. Baby kittens need help having bowel movements. Momma cats lick the babies to get them to go and the gentle stroking will help the kitten.

Every 3-4 hours. If the kitten is crying alot, you may want to feed it more. Make sure you also stimulate it to pee by rubbing it's private area with a wet warm paper towel.

** you may want to go to a pet store and get KMR, it's better.

I'd feed it every couple hours, or at least try to see if it's hungry. It'll eat and sleep, pretty much constantly, for a week or two, I'd think. Poor puss, I had one the kids found years ago like that. It survived fine.

Offer the kitten the bottle every hour. Let it eat as much as it wants.
