I have a Mastiff and three Labs, and I've had English Bulldogs...To tell you the truth, I've never noticed the difference. One of my labs eats more than the Mastiff, and he's an extra large dog. It can cost at least $1200 a year per dog...including medical expenses.

It depends. As far as daily expenses a little dog's necessities will probably cost less. As far as the initial cost of buying a dog (if that's what you're talking about) it depends on the dog and where you get it. Be weary of people selling dogs for cheap prices, especially if they seem to have a lot of them, and breed them a lot. Sometimes littler dogs (like toy breeds) can cost a lot more because they have such small litters. Then there's breeds like bulldogs that require c-sections that will cost more. If you go to a reputable breeder you will pay more for a dog, but it will be worth the price. You can also look into rescue. If you're considering a dog based on how much it will cost, you might want to think again though. A dog should not be considered on price, but rather what's right for you.

There is no way to tell you how much, exactly, it is going to cost you to own a dog. It will be a significant commitment whether big or small. Admittedly, a larger dog will cost more in regards to food and medication, but both are an expense. The cost is worth it though!

Prices of dogs vary depending on what type you get. For instance, a pure bred is going to be much more than a mut. Dogs with broad shoulders tend to cost more such as bull dogs and pugs because they are born through c sections. Along the lines of food, big dogs are obviously gonna cost more because they are going to eat more. I would reccomend doing some research on the dog thats perfect for you and one that will fit in with your needs, family, etc.

The price varies depending on the type of dog. I have six Extra large dogs, and they of course eat more than a small dog, and the larger an item is such as a crate, collar, leash, etc. they cost more. But some small dogs are expensive with grooming costs, etc. It all depends on the dog, and what you plan on doing with it.

Big dogs will eat more, take more space and time, and will poop more, than little dogs. Since "more" in each of those examples equals higher cost, I feel that big dogs are more expensive than little ones. And if a big dog gets mad, it goes for the throat. A little dog with gnaw an ankle. Lawsuits for little dogs are cheaper.
