I say go with what your heart. After you recovered from your initial shock, what was your reaction? Yes? Still hesitant? You said that he lives 3 hours away from you and travels quite a bit. Have you spent enough time 24/7 with each other to know that you want to be married to him? All I know is from my experience. I was in a long term long distance relationship and when we finally spent more than 2 weeks together 24/7, we fought a lot and it was terrible. It didn't mean that I didn't love him to death but I knew things might not work out in the long term.

There has to be some doubt otherwise you wouldn't be asking and have already chosen. Subconsciously there is something stopping you and you have to find out what it is before you say "yes". It's not good to doubt. It shouldn't be because you where in shock that's a poor excuse to drag it (whatever it is) on. You need to have a important discussion with him or evaluate your relationship with him by yourself.

instead of asking us, you need to be asking yourself a question. "Do I love him, and can I spend the rest of my life with him?"

I think if you love him.then you need to tell him yes. and if you don't love him then say no.But i'd follow you're heart. and do what it tells you to do. good luck
