i love my wife and children, they are imperfect ,so need love and devotion much more than the fat god that sits up there and has billions kissing his ***.
the idea that i want take my family as my religion means that my behaviour has to be in the way that i praise my family constantly, believe in them and unconditionaly love them.

Why not? Religion is a belief and at the head of that belief is a god.

I disagree. You better be damned sure this wife of yours is the ONE. Sounds funny, but in this time and age, people treat marriages like underwear.

Treating your wife or your mother as God is no different from treating your job or your accomplishements as God.

The idea of worshipping a God or divinity is based on the assumption and unconditional acceptance that such Entity is infinite superior and benevolent than you. That it is perfect and that worship Him is the right thing.

Your wife as much as you love her, she is not perfect. She is human like you. She is not perfect and she is not better than you. She may be a better person, but her nature is not superior to yours.

When you worship, you make an act of faith in which you accept your submission to a divine entity. That's what it means to worship a divinity.

Your question about making your wife as God sounds like Hippie revitionism to me. You either worship a divinity or divinities that are infinitely superior than you, or you don't believe in such entities.

You should and must treat your wife with all your love and respect. But she doesn't deserve worship; no person does.

Your question is frivolous to say the least.

Essentially you could because you have free will, however it not only could and more than likely would cause problems.... eventually. But if you should choose your wife as your god and your family as your religion...... then... you would not only be guilty of idolatry.... but you might not also get the same devotion in return, and this would one day upset you.... To give out all the love you could to those who would and could not return it to its full potential...There's only One that could do that.... and He could do so much more.....

Sure ya can.
My God is brand new every day I awake, is very much like the concept of a god that most people have, but it is my god, so there.

you can choose your wife as your religion cause you have to follow her command, similar to following church's command.

It is alright to regard your family as God cause you need to give everything to it (if you don't have kids - wait for that moment and you will understand). By saying everything i mean both physical - money, comfort, and commitment and metaphysical - whole of your mind and attention to it. This is gonna bug you all your life...

so i recco you to switch your god and religion in question.

Yes you could! BUT..... What about after you die? I would let God be God and do as the bible says which is to Love your wife as Christ loves the church and gave his life as a ransom. Place her above all other women. Your Family above all others and God above ALL.

No. God is God. And your wife is your wife. If your wife were god, that would make her perfect. If you see things the way you stated them you will cause a lot of confusion and hurt for yourself.

I don't know but sounds good. Really though I think there is only one god. If your treating your wife like a god than bless you.

NO....God id God, not your wife or family. Religion is a way of life, God's way. That's how you should live and that is not a religion.
