To all you people who just want to be smart a s s e s please do not bother to answer. If you don't have an answer why do you answer to begin with? This is something that my boyfriend has wanted for a long time, he has had 2 throughout his lifetime and they were all great loyal dogs. And if one of you smart a s s e s could give me that name of the rescue shelters overflowing with Dalmations that would be great too. Anyone else with serious anwers... Thanks for answering.

My buddy has a Dal and her call is Sprinkles. Even tho it does relate to her markings, i think of it somewhat is somewhat cute. EDIT: A blue eye? Did the breeder do a BAER try on the clutter? this is a listening to attempt to all respected breeders of Dals do them because of the fact deafness is so prevelant in this breed. A blue eye would advise that's amazingly in all probability you have a pup with a deaf ear. it may be on a similar side because of the fact the blue eye if that's the case. in case you're fortunate, that's basically one ear and not the two. could be solid in case you knew this now so which you should be conscious of a deaf ear for instruction purposes.

Did you actually research the breed? Or did you and your boyfriend watch 101 Dalmations and say, "I have to have one?" Six months after that movie came out, animal shelters were filled with dalmations. A year after it came out, shelters were filled with dalmation mixes.

Dalmations are hard to train; they're stubborn. A lot of them are born deaf, too.

Dalmations are very temperamental, extremely energetic, and fiercely loyal dogs. Make certain this is what you want to do. They are beautiful dogs, but hardly warm and fuzzy. They require lots of attention. lots of room to run, and can be very, very territorial. They don't discriminate. They'll bite anyone. I've owned three.

http://www.petfinder.com - I know there are dalmatian rescues in Illinois - I've driven rescue dogs for them.

Please consider adopting from rescue, since there are so many out there that need good homes.
