The people here who have shared their experiences with me, like mine, have brought tears to my eyes, tears filled with joy. God is the greatest, and I wish that everyone in the world could experience what I'm feeling. My relationship with God is growing and will continue to grow. Thank you so much for sharing your stories. And may God bless you all, even the non-blievers because God loves each and every one of his children.

Tennis Freak, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU SISTER! You are right, there is a void that nothing can fill but knowing God. Congratulations on finding that. I felt the same way for a long time and tried to fill that emptiness with things of this earth....nothing worked. That is why it is so hard to understand all the negativity on this site, so many condemn us for believing and being happy with our Christianity, if all the things of the world are enough for them and make them happy, why do they have to take time to insult and belittle us for our happiness? Does it make their lives better and more fulfilled?
That being said, keep looking up and drawing closer to God, He will draw you closer to Him. And don't let the anti-God content of these answers discourage you. Blessings to you!

its sad to read some of the comments but it reminds me that this is the kind of world the Savior came into-one that hated the light and goodness. if you have truly felt the yearning for God and His presence than you are truly blessed because so many will never feel as you do or understand. i too feel this and find great pleasure in reading the psalms and letters from the apostle Paul. be on guard though- a real closeness to God is not without the pain of trial and testing

I remember to this day exactly how I felt when I surrender to God's will and asked Jesus into my life. The heavy chains that had me bound by sin, and oppression were instantly removed, and I felt such a peace within, it was the most memorable moment in my life. To know that no matter what happens in this world you are not alone, and to have Him with you fills you with such joy, that you can't always contain it and that feeling is what makes me want to share God's and His son's Jesus love for others.

I have been noticing a little more every day that he is there for me. For quite some time I was just like you.....did a hell of a lot of drinking and all the othet good "bad" stuff that went along with it.

But lately he has been making himself visible to me a little more and more each day...and I love it. I found that but just changing my life a little for him, ha has started to give me lot, and the best part is...I know there is no end to what he can do for me, and that makes me feel even better.

YES! i know exactly what you mean. if you allow God to penetrate your soul and open your eyes to your surroundings, you really start to see Him. a lot of people feel the way you do, and it's cool.

but i REALLY have to warn you, watch out. because believing in God isn't all rainbows and butterflies. it often requires sacrifice, tears, pain, and sadness--like a lot of good things, like marriage, raising kids, or anything worthwhile. after this sort of 'revealing' period, God will test your faith. you will eventually feel despair, like he's left you, things won't turn out so good, you won't want to pray, you'll want to go back to your own lifestyle.
but if you stay strong, you'll pull through and God will bless you even more. because it's the tough times that count.
anyway, i'm glad you found God. he is soooo amazing.

Your sensing god is really a function of the human brain. All people have "god spots" on the brain, and if they are stimulated, the chemicals released create a spiritual experience. You can do more research if you like, this is a recently documented phenomenon.

Well that's wonderful!

Yes it's true, they say there is a God-sized hole in each of us that only He can fill.

You could have filled that hole with philosophy, joining any active social group, or charity work as well, but if you want to call it god, I suppose that's up to you.
