Does anyone know the Year when the first set of WaterColor Paints came in a plastic case, or metal case first came out??

I need to know for a story, and I can't find any info.

I suspect Reeves & Son was the oldest company to mass retail watercolour paint - I've tried to research Reeves but I believe they've since been bought out by some conglomerate, no info available in a quick search.

Winsor & Newton is one of the older companies, you might try the link below, it details the history of the company. If nothing else, you could identify the first W&N paint box...
