i am going to get an american bulldog..are they good guard dogs..any expieriences owners?

Go to akc.org and look up the breed. It will give you a link to the american bulldog club of america that will answer probably most of your questions. I do know they are very sweet playful dogs. I'm not sure, but I think they can be somewhat protective of their families, but that does not mean you should train it to be mean (if that's what you're thinking). If you're wanting an actual guard dog, look into training facilities in your area for the proper way to train it.

There are two type of American bulldog. Johnson type is very big (big as 140Lbs) and slow. Not good for working. Scott type is more working type, but smaller. Try to avoid those big type.
They are excellent guard dog. Very powerful dog. One male put hole on my bite suit while we train them for our client.
They are trainable. Good enough for Schutzhund sport.

You should get a dog because you love it, not because you are going to use it to protect you. if it was a service dog, i would understand, but just to guard your house.. i hope you will treat it like a pet at the same time lol.

anyways, i have never had one, but i hear they are great guard dogs.

sorry but those dog's are not guard dogs, those are dog's that get bigger and bigger. FAT....but they are good dogs

well, bulldogs r rough players but im not sure if they are good guarders.
