Well I'll tell you this much about the bible. The second testament to the bible was written over 400 years after Jesus christ walked the earth using hear say methods. The orginal testament was written by the higher archies who back in the day were the monarches of the church who helped rule societies. The problems back then for any society was to stop people from uprising and overthrowning the government. The only way to prevent this was to provide some form of hope to the poor masses and give them a set of rules like they shall not kill, steal or bang they neighbors wife. The bible created these rules and stability was allowed to follow keeping the monarches wealthy and powerful. In todays society the catholic church is the largest owner of real estate in the world with more money then half the world's economies combined. They make bill gates look poor, so by manufacturing a beleif in god, it has allowed all religious organizations to maintain tremendous power throughout the centuries by providing an unprovable hope to the poor people within each society. Think about who are the biggest religious nuts in the world? It's mostly the poor countries who have little except there belief in god that stops them from waging war on the world to get out of there desparate state of financial ruin. Why do these people live in card board boxes in mexico in shanty towns with shrins of jesus? Why don't they steal or kill to better there lives? because the bible stops them. In prehistoric cavemen days man killed raped and stole in order to survive regardless. Religion put an end in some respect on a large scale to that way of life. Hope this helps

The Bible is a work of man, in that it was written down by man, but what is in it was given to man by God. Now, in the case of the parables, many of those are metaphors and allegories, they are not literal. As the saying goes, "the bible is open to interpretation" and we can all think what we want, but in the end, there is only one right answer and it comes from God.

The Bible is most certainly a work of man.Take note of the names of the chapters in the New Testament...Matthew ,Mark ,Paul ,Luke ,John ,etc...
I don't know much about the other major books of scripture (Torah,Q'ran, etc.), but I think this world would be a much better place if people wouldn't take the Bible litteraly, but instead tried to live their lives in accordance with some of its lessons.

Well, technically you are making a God out of a book, if you believe in the. 10 commandments, thou shalt not have any other Gods before me, for I am a jealous God. It is the work of man. Why would so many human emotions be attached to something that is supposed to be beyond all that?

I believe it is a work of man, and it is not different from any other folktales or mythology from any other culture. I don't know why anyone can say that the Bible is correct and the other mythologies are wrong and made up by men.

well it was written by men .... so then it was a work of man. I don't know if God was telling them what to write but hey i don't know and no one else does either. If you want to believe in something that's good for you and doesn't harm others than go for it. I just think that a true god wont tell you to hate other for what they believe in and a true god would tell you to try and be a good person .
I don't like it when people go around telling others that their religion is the one true religion, its like your back in kinder garden. Let people believe what they want and if you want to teach them your religion then go for it. Just leave those people that don't want to learn your religion alone, they want to believe something else and that's OK.

It's not "god-given" OR "god-inspired". In fact, it's not a spiritual text at all. It's a political one.

The stupid thing is FULL of contradictions and hypocrisy. It was written by MEN, and men alone.

For Chrissakes they even held a CONFERENCE to pick and choose what should be left out to better serve their purposes.

The entire thing was created to control people who are too stupid to think for themselves, and sadly, it has done just that.
