Make sure she's crate trained, you're not going to want her running around the house. Give her something that smells like you (like a towel or shirt), and a toy to play with (unless she likes to eat them). Leave a radio or tv on for the noise. It usually comforts dogs when their people are away. Being so young, I would see if there's anyone that can let her out half way through the day. Her little bladder is going to have a problem with that. And don't scold her when you get home if she goes in the house (or in her crate). She's just a baby.

It would be best to keep the puppy in a crate, not to be mean but to keep her safe. At that age they tend to chew and taste anything and everything and she could get into something while you are gone. It would be best to keep her busy while you are gone too. Go to the the pet store and buy a Kong toy. these are red or black rubber toys that can be stuffed with thing like treats, or peanut butter and Cheerios. The best part they are dishwasher safe!! Also leave the radio on quietly, but stay away from heavy music, and still to talk radio. The constant voices can be very soothing to a dog.

Well, I wouldn't leave her in a crate for that length of time if she's going to be alone; but would baby gate her in a bathroom or kitchen instead (or even a laundry room). Leave her plenty of chew toys and some stuffed kongs, I also like to leave the radio or t.v. on for my pups when I'm at work. She'll be fine and will probably sleep most of the time while your gone.

It is actually better to leave the puppy in a small area such as a crate because it will feel more secure in a small place. Another thing you can do is to leave a worn piece of clothing from someone in the family with it and a radio left on can help too.

See if there's a doggy daycare in the area, or get a neighbor or something to take care of her during the day. 7 hours is too long to leave her alone at that age.

Try to find a pet sitter. Someone who can look in on the puppy a few times a day, and play with him/her. Make sure there is plenty of water for the puppy, and don't keep it outside in the accessive heat. It will get dehidrated. Make sure it has plenty of it's favorite toys to play with. Good luck.

have a friend take care of it, or if not that get a really really big cage with food, water, and newspaper at the bottom just in case of a mess. toys would be helpful too. if that doesn't work (which it should) take it maybe to a close by doggy day care :)

doggy day care is a feasable option. or, hire a junior high or high school kid or even a pet sitter to drop by and walk her. Leave lots of toys around, especially Kongs with treats stufed inside. the sad truth is she may not mind being alone for a while.
