FIRST TAKE YOUR LIST TO A PHARMACY TO CHECK FOR DRUG INTER-ACTIONS. I CAN NOT BELIEVE SHE IS NOT SLEEPING IF SHE IS TAKING HER MEDS CORRECTLY AS ALL CAN BE SEDATING AMBBIEN IS A SLEEPING PILL TWO 10 MG SHOULD KNOCK HER ON HER BUTT. I WOULD ASSUME SHE IS NOT TAKING HER MEDS CORRECTLY MAYBE SOMEONE COULD MONITOR HER MED INTAKE.
SECOND YOU OR HER HUSBAND SHOULD TRY TO CONVINCE HER TO SEE A THERAPIST SO CAN START UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS HAPPENING TO SO SHE CAN THEN BEGIN O COPE AND HEAL. PILLS ALONE MIGHT ONLY SERVE TO CAUSE A BIGGER PROBLEM.
ONE MORE THING, WHO IS PRESCRIBING THESE MEDS FOR HER..IS IT HER REGULAR DR.. IF SO THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA AS MOST GENERAL DRS. DO NOT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT PSYCHIATRIC MEDS TO DISPENSE THEM EFFECTIVELY AND SOMETIMES CORRECTLY. PLEASE GET HER TO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST FOR THESE KINDS OF MEDS. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL

I doubt you will get many or any answers from experts in the field of psychiatric medicine on this site. First thing to remember is that your sister's doctor is not in the medical field to kill his patients. I have had 15 years of psychiatric medications that were stronger than your sister's for a reason. I am not a doctor. Neither are you. Or your sister's husband. You can SUGGEST to her that a second opinion might be a good idea. It is her decision; she is the patient, and all patients in this area have Mental Health Rights which specifically outlines confidentiality, respect, and dignity towards their health issues. What I find disturbing in the details of your question is the very personal and intimate details of your sister's marriage that your brother-in-law is telling you. It is no ones business but theirs and her doctor's to know about your sister's sex drive. While it is good that you are concerned about your sister's well-being, you can only make suggestions, never insist because she is an adult, and be supportive of her decisions. What would be very helpful would be for you to seek counseling yourself into how to understand your sister's anxiety problem. It's important for families to know how to be supportive of a loved one and if you begin to start seeking knowledge about it yourself, you will discover a lot of information out there. Good luck to all of you.
