If one is to answer this question correctly they need to consider this. In the beginning the majority of the American public (I believe around 75%) supported the war for Iraq. Only after this long listening to the media emphasize everything bad which happens while ignoring everything positive has this changed.

The truth though is something need not be popular for it to be right. The left continually says we support the soldiers but not the war. To me at least this is a weak argument. By continually criticising the war you are undermining our (I'm in the Army) ability to do what needs to be done to win. Already the rules of engagement have changed to such an extent (Because of political pressure) that we can not defend ourselves as we were once able to. The Liberals keep saying that the war is turning into another Vietnam. The argument couldn't possibly be further from the truth although if they keep it up it could be.

(P.S. - To the previous answerer. I am a big fan of quotes as well and find Albert Einstein particularly interesting in an eccentric sort of way. I find it ironic though that someone who is clearly oppposed to the war would use Einstein to bolster their argument. He did help develop the atomic bomb after all).

Lets see the looney left proposed a bill for IMMEADITE withdrawal, but only 7 people voted the first time for it and 12 the second time.

It might not be popular but FEW support leaving now.

Furthermore, like the left seems to suffer from, history didn't begin the day we invaded Iraq. And 80% of Congress orignally agreed on it. Plus the death toll in Iraq keeps going down

Excellent question...one that has been bugging me for most of my life's experience.

I found a simple answer:

Look up the U.S. budget in the World Almanac.

There you will see that the two greatest expenses borne by taxpayers is the military and social services.

Has been this way for a very long time.

Nobody wants to change it, and probably can't since it's so huge.

So, as long as taxpayers foot the bill, the charade goes on.

Because of a corrupt and self seeking government .

The more advanced countries just invent their own terror and then identify it where they want it to be, so they can then attack to achieve their agendas.

You cant fight terror it is an idea "the war on terror" is just buzz words to keep the sheeples happy at home and not thinking too much.
