Well, not being celibate today, I am probably not in a position to answer. But I was celibate until I was twenty and met the woman who is my wife. And wow life took on a new and wonderful dimension, which is still has nearly 20 years later.
I am always curious why people think celibacy is such a wonderful thing. It certainly runs counter to our God given biology and being celibate and single never felt very powerful. But when you are intimate with another person who returns your love and passion....wow now there's some power...great enough to create a life.
Pretty cool deal all the way around.

Paul addresses this question in the Bible. He states that it's good to marry, but that practically speaking, unmarried folks generally have more time to focus on God and God's work. The married person potentially has more earthly worries because they have to care for their spouse and/or children. Married people also have less potential free time for God because they have to give a fair amount to the spousal relationship.
On the other hand, being relatively recently married, there are some spiritual perks to being married too related to loving and being loved.
And of course, you can tell I'm assuming everyone who isn't married is celibate, which in today's society might not be a very good assumption.

This is such a personal issue, especially when it comes to spirit purpose & free-will choice...However, my perspective, is that during times of celibacy, my spirituality grew the fastest, yet during sexual intimacies, I was given the opportunity to expand on that growth by being what I was becoming...adding experience to the knowledge, so to speak.
I know there to be an interaction of energies (not actually an "exchange") when humans come together...from being in close proximity to the closeness of intimacy...this is what gives the experience its "zest"!

Not at all. It pulls you further from the divine.
Sex is a magical, spiritual act, in which the male and female (traditionally, or male/male/etc if you please) become the god and goddess to each other.
Sex is, in and of itself, a spiritual and beautiful act which connects you to the divine nature.
Celibacy only serves to separate you from that, which is undoubtedly what the MEN who created Xtianity were aiming for.

Recalling my early teenage years,I would say celibacy doesn't
have a positive impact-it's human nature to want to mate.
