I don't believe it is. I think there is enough evidence to prove its not Jesus, but it doesn't matter. Its an interesting subject, but my faith is not based on the outcome of a piece of cloth.
I believe in Jesus Christ without scientific 'proof'.
My salvation comes from the Lord.

Scientific analysis has proven it to not be from the time of Christ's death. Then again, scientific analysis has proven that man shares a common anscestor with chimps and obororo.
There are some strong speculation that De Vinci, or some other Renn artist, made the Shroud. The 'Last Supper' was an example of the experiemental painting techniques that De Vinci tried, so it's possible that the Shroud was another experiment.
It's a fake, but it can be seen as a tribute to Christ. Whether for profit or not, someone spent alot of time and effort on it, working with techniques that modern science has yet to figure out.

I do believe it is authentic, Jesus was beaten so badly he was not recognizable, so it would not look like a young man as Jesus was. I do not put my Faith in an object but in God.I am reading all this about it being proven fake, no one has agreed on that yet. The tests are unreliable because of centuries of handing and repairs giving false readings due to all the DNA soiling it. Think about it if this was something cooked up in the middle ages, how did they know an image would show when it was photographed centuries later? I know God is real ,I am sure this is too. God knew it would strengthen those who already believed in Him, and the image is not clear enough to really know what his son looked like. I feel it is the face of Jesus, the suffering is evident His forgiveness clear,
Hope that helps ~A~

No!
Scientists were hired to work on that project and science is of the devil.
The world is only a few thousand years old and them dumb scientists are saying somethin like 1.4 billion. What a load of huey. The bible says it's a few thousand then that's what it is.
Have faith in what you can't see or prove. That's my motto! It's not like I'd be mad or anything when I die and find out at the last milli-second of my life I was following a bunch of borrowed myth from the early Greek mythology scrolls like Osiris and the almost complete story of Jesus borrowed from Buddhism.

The Shroud of Turin is just another way for the Catholic church to divert publicity when they are caught in one of their never ending scandals.
Assuming it is a genuine burial shroud, we have no way to confirm it was any particular person without DNA samples, so debating the issue is pointless.
It's a novelty, nothing more or less.

No, it's a 14th century painting. The technique has been exactly replicated in recent years using a simple stained glass technique that would have been available at the time, and results in the same 3d effects as the original.

No, I don't think it is an image of Jesus. I believe that the material of the 'shroud' has been tested and has been conclusively proved to be of a much later date.

Unfortunately, the Catholic church has been one of the worst offenders amongst Christians in encouraging 'idolatory' in the worship of relics and saints. It is rather less blatant about it than it used to be, but it still goes on.
