Do you think they really want us there?

I think they would vote by a reasonably substantial margin for us to stay. That said I don't believe they really want us there but recognize what would happen if we left.
The U.S. military is doing good no matter what the media says. I've personally seen the schools and hospitals being built. Incredibly outdated infastructure being updated and the Iraqi people gradually taking control of their own government and military.
The important thing to remember though is that although you hear several times a day about the attacks what occur is that if we were not there things would be much worse. The average Iraqi just wants to go about their daily lives and our presence there is allowing them to a certain extent to do just that.

The majority of Iraqis want freedom and would be willing to
have the US stay there for years and years if that's what it takes.
Just ask any freedom loving Iraqi in Detroit or else where in the
mid west.

I think the vote would be closer than many people think. Honestly, I would see a 60-40 in favor of staying. Why? To help protect from insurgents, terrorists, etc.

I think that they would vote for us to stay. Freedom is not something they know about, but they do know fear, not because of us but because of saddam. They have a taste of it now and have opportunities that never have been considered in their country. Freedom ~ Go Away what would you choose.
Have you noticed that any newsman interviewing people about something always pick the guy that has no clue.

They would vote for us to leave. And if they did, we should. And then the results of that would be on their heads, not ours, so I am all for it, as we would be gone from there and nobody could blame us for the results. But it ain't gonna happen.
