If this is a serious question, the answer is, with lots of time, guidance and practice. If you dont have the time to spend on the water with rod in hand and line in the air, you will never get the hang of it. I have been doing it for 6 years and just this year Im getting the hang of it becaus i now have time to get out and do it. Take any instruction you can get and try to get to some places where you can actually catch fish. Dont try to learn in Colorado. The rivers are overfished and the fish are experts at telling a natural meal from an imitation.

Regular fishing line is cast out with the aid of some sort of weight attached to the end. Flyfishing line is cast using the weight of the line to send the line out into the water. The idea is to get the fly to look as natural as possible when presented the lure to the fish. Using up to 30 or 40 feet of line so that the end with the fly floats down to the water gently. You can figure it out in a few minutes with any flyrod. I have been told it can take years to become skilled.
