If a jump start works on your car, it sounds like the battery has gone on to a better place. If you don't have any lights or radio at all, the battery sounds completely fried. Or you may just have a loose battery cable. Never hurts to check. Have you checked to see if someone hasn't stolen the battery? If or when you get the battery replaced, have someone at the auto parts place or garage check to make sure your alternator is working properly. The people at Auto Zone or Advance do this for free. Many times, when one goes out, it can take the other one with it. (The battery and alternator)

Take the battery out of the car and take it to your local Napa or AutoZone to have it tested. If it is dead, get a new battery.
If it is still working ok, then it is probably your alternator.

If it is the alternator, get a membership to AAA and have it towed to your friendly mechanic. He will fix it for about $200-$300.

if your cars not starting then something maybe shorting out and draining your battery and maybe try getting a boost and see if it starts and if it does start see if it will run and if it does not run then you need a new alternator but it maybe wise to get a new alternator and new battery it may even be something as simple as a blowen fuse maybe have someone look at it for you if your not sure where to look for these things hope this helps you out a little

get someone to boost your car. when it is running remove the positive cable from the battery. if the car shuts off then the alternator is dead. if it runs then it is the battery.
