It seems to like everyone in my husbands family, are liars. They will tell you something and the time time you see them, they try to tell you the same story. That's why I'm asking this question? My husband and I this discussion after every visit.........

I would say that it is a LEARNED habit and not a genetic one. It is certainly easy to learn and a hard habit to break. Lies feed lies, and liars feed liars - kind of a snowball affect.

It could be, I have known several chronic liars in my life. We will find out some day

Excessive lying could be a symptom of a personality disorder- and they can be hereditary!

No I think it's just a bad habit. But if you grow up around it, then that's what you're used to and you're likely to do it too.
