Dear Fig,

I believed before I feared. Therefore, I follow because I believe - fear is only one part of my belief. Joy and expectation are others.

Fear cannot MAKE anyone believe anything. Fear can only come about when one first believes - otherwise, what would one fear?

Both actually. I believe that there is a heaven and a hell, and I fear hell!!
I saw that on that one statement about "Turn or Burn" you put you would rather burn. Would you really choose that if someone was asking you and you would ACTUALLY receive the burn if you chose that. I mean fire right there by the person asking you? I seriously doubt you would. So, think about what you say before you may be taken up on your offer. I'm sure Satan has a place waiting for you!!

I follow and fear (in the religious/awe sense of the term) because I believe.

Follow what religion are you referring? Any religion?

I follow something because I believe it will work. I follow nothing out of fear.

A religion that endorse fear is a false religion, or has falsehoods in it.

No religion should be forced.

Neither.
I follow because I know.
Believing or fearing is not an option for me - I need to KNOW.
Maybe that's why I cannot follow any pre-made religion.

I believe. I believe and because I believe I fear. Book of Ecclesiastes. Last few verses : to sum it all up: "fear God and keep the commandments."

Jesus died for our sins so that we may go to heaven. You can fear all you want. if you are truley sorry for your sins and believe in God you will go to heaven. If you fear God that is good. Then you truley understand the power he has. It is the people who don't fear that should be concerned with their salvation. You could be thrown in the eternal lake of fire or be written in the book of life, it's your choice. You are the captain of your soul.

Everyone follows it for fear of HELL. People will lie and say because of belief, but they just want to get into Heaven. HOW SELFISH!! Good thing it's all fake! Like Santa!!! Grow up everyone!!
