a poorly done tongue piercing can result in infection, or even half of your face being paralyzed. here, they sell self-peircing kits for 20 bucks, but you can get it done professionally for 25 including jewelry. the tongue is a very risky piercing, there are two major veins in your tongue. not to mention that the tongue is just one major muscle. imagining piercing your arm muscle, not safe. if you want it so bad, the risks arent worth doing it yourself. get it done professionally or not at all. it could end up crooked, infected, or you could live your entire life with half of your face drooping.

Your body your choice right. But if i may give you some advice...I am a dental assistant and have seen many MANY tongue pieceing in my life time all of they people have extreme bacterial growth on their tongue...its like having a yeast infection in you mouth. You mouth is an opening for many many breeding bacteria as it is a warm and moist environment. By piecing your tongue you are putting something else in your mouth that bacteria will latch onto... NOT A GOOD IDEA! Be safe bacteria can lead to brain damage or heart problems really really think it over befor eyou do this

The tongue is so vascular that, if you can't start an iv line, you can just inject the medicine in the bottom of the tongue and it's almost as good. Do not try this at home. If you hit a blood vessel, you will be in deep doo-doo. And, you can't trust the anatomy charts 100%. They how where MOST people's arteries and veins run, but you might be that exception to the usual case.

okay Ive got to start out by saying tongue piercing is all bad!!!! I hop,e you have a good dental plan cause most people whom have there tongue pierced end up fracturing there molars and have to get crowns. So that might be something to consider before doing it. But if you still want to do it DON"T do it yourself your mouth carries so much bacteria and if your not careful you may end up with a bad infection and you could possible lose your tongue!!!So if your still going to get it PLEASE let the professionals do there job they are equipped and trained to do it

I had the dentist I worked for give me an injection in the tongue thinking it would numb it and the piercing wouldnt hurt. DUMB DUMB DUMB!!! It made a huge lump and they couldnt pierce it. I had to go back 2 days later. Luckely I was dating the piercer and he thought it was funny.

I was told that there is an artery that runs through your tongue and if you pierce it wrong you could bleed to death. Go get it done!!!! Its not safe!!!!! I had mine done professionally and even paid a little extra to go to a reputable piercer.

Same as above, but to add: I've seen many cracked teeth owned by people with metal in their mouths. In your sleep and even awake, it's possible to bite down on the metal and fracture a tooth.

Crowns and root canals are expensive. You SURE you want this thing?

See a professional. You will not be able to sterilize your jewelry or your piercing supplies (you need an autoclave to do that)
You are asking for unneccesary pain, infection, and an expensive doctor bill.
