Yes, you should tell the city council about that. It sound's like it would be much safer that way.

Also, we should warn people when the red light is going to turn green so they don't put their head in the glovebox just before the light turns green. Let's put the double warning on that too.

No. People shoudl put down their Starbucks, their cell phone, thier ipods and all the other crap that has no place on a highway while they are driving and pay atttention to the signal lights. yellow lights are designed to stay on a designated amount of time based on intersection size, the speed limit in the area and other pertinent factors. If you are approaching an intersection and the light turns yellow, believe it or not, you can stop. Your early light idea would roughly translate into "oh s#$%, only threee seconds to make the light- I'd better hit it".

I think if they are going to take pictures of peoples cars if they run a red light then yes we need a little more timeto get through the yellow light
