It is hard to deal with the loss of a pet under any circumstances. Just remember all of the good memories you shared with your pet,and cherish them for ever. Just take it one day at a time. I will be hard for a while but the pain of losing your pet will subside. Good luck and God bless.

That's truly heartbreaking - I know how it feels. A few years ago, I woke up New Years Day to find that my 5 year old cat had gone to sleep the night before and never woke up.
Unfortunately nothing helps but time. I'm so sorry. You might want to consider a new pet, but always remember that this will be a NEW pet, not a replacement. You can never replace the pet you lost.

Well my pet did not die suddenly, I had to put her to sleep at age 13. She was going blind (had severe cataracts and did not recognize me at times) had 3 operations for mammory cancer, and another for an eye tumor. She lost weight and her sides started sinking in. I did not want her to suffer anymore so I had her put down. I cried all the way to the vets and all the way home. It was terrible. I cried myself to sleep that night. I suggest letting it all out and having a good cry. You must grieve, then when you are ready, get another pet. The one you lost will always be in your heart. I keep my deceased pets picture on my refrigerator.

it just plain sucks! it happened to me this Summer and I still feel as awful as the day he died. I adopted a new puppy and I like him but I tend to compare the two. I suggest you wait to get a new pet until you know you are ready. From experience, the new pet doesn't really make you feel better.

http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm - this is a good story to read when a pet dies "The Rainbow Bridge"

Hang in there & try to think of the funny things your pet did. It will help you laugh through the tears.

i'm sorry which you lost your expensive puppy rat. i do no longer think of there extremely is any way of starting to be the grieving technique greater handy. that is puzzling once you lose somebody human or animal which you're close to to. enable your self have a outstanding cry for as long as you are able to. once you're waiting, possibly have a intense high quality burial for him, and plant a flower/tree/plant for him as a memorial. take a little time to leaf by using any pictures you have of him, and remember the coolest cases you had with him. once I had to place my previous canines down very virtually 3 years in the past, I cried myself to sleep, and alter into numb for some week. I surely have some pictures of him in my mattress room so i will seem at them and remember what a brilliant canines he substitute into, and how he made my life finished for 14 years. My canines's names are Cyrus and Hank.

If your pet died don't let that get in your way of enjoying what's left of your life. Don't waste your life time on crying because of your pet! Who knows how long you'll live.

what happened? my saint bernard died about 6 months ago-let me tell you-a saint bernard is a large thing to miss!! he died of a twisted stomach-guess it happens in larger dogs. it's not easy and the pain does not go away. best thing to do is to do something happy-i know it's a dog but your dog would rather see you happy then anything else.!! again, really sorry about your dog-
