In the end, judas still had the free will that we are all given. What he was presented with was a choice, not a command. He could have still chosen another way. The plan would have just been altered. Just my thoughts....

Good question!!

Even though Judas was carrying out God's plan, he is still the one who made the decision to betray Him. He could have changed his mind at any point. God does have a plan but He never forces us to do anything we don't want to do. He gave us a free will to choose our own path.
I think if Judas had prayed forgiveness he would not be condemned. He would have been forgiven. And for all we know, he might have reconciled with God before he died.

I believe Judas condemned himself, he couldn't take what he had done, and went crazy and hung himself. Most everybody feels that Judas was a trader and don't like him. I don't like what he did, but if he hadn't, who would of told of Christ where abouts therefore bringing about the Crucifixion, saving all humanity from eternal damnation. He was chosen by Christ and some believe he knew that. Judas was following God's plan and part of that plan was people condemning him. Who are we to question God's infinite wisdom, he always know's best. God Bless!!

There are scholars today that believe Judas was not a true believer but instead a "political activist" who thought the followers of Jesus could precipitate and win a war between the Jews & The Romans.

It is further thought that in betraying Jesus his followers would immediately rise to his defense. (Again, precipitating a war twixt the Jews and Romans.)

Judas wasnt carrying out God's plan, Judas was carrying out the devil's plan of doing away with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but Our Lord conquered Satan at the cross, by defeating death, and ascending into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God, as mediator between us and our heavenly Father. Blessed be His name. Today Satan is still trying to do away with Christ as Lord and Saviour, witness the hatred against all christians.

Judas had the opportunity to repent and be forgiven just as
the apostle peter did on several occasions. It just happens that
judas chose not to repent. His condemnation was a product of
his own choice just as our choices and decisions will have eternal consequences.

Excellent point! Surely he should have a seat right next to god in heaven? If it wasn't for Judas Jesus would never have been identified and crucified and there would be no Christianity, surely he really did a good thing? And it was god plan.

He was doing so for evil purposes, for selfish gain and without any intent to play a part in God's plan; though God USED that treachery of Judas to accomplish His divine plan.

How was Judas condemned?

The man killed himself, nobody condemned him.
